Parent & Child- this course is to familiarize young children with the water and prepare them to participate in the learn to swim courses. It is not designed to teach children to become good swimmers or to survive in the water on their own. Parents and Children will have the opportunity to explore holding and support techniques, floating, blowing bubbles, and rolling from back to front in the water in a safe and comfortable manner. Parent or other care giver must accompany each child into the water to participate in each class.
Pre-School Level 1 - Introduces pre-school age children to the aquatic environment and help them gain basic aquatic skills. Helping participants to develop positive attitudes and safe practices around water; while providing total support to the child. We will teach the following skills at a slower pace, using games and songs: blowing bubbles, submerging mouth, nose, and eyes, floating on front and back, and kicking in the water.
Pre-School Level 2 - Gives students success with the fundamental skills, including learning how to float without support and to recover to a vertical position. Students should be comfortable with their face in the water, and working towards some independence. We will teach: submerging entire head, blowing bubbles. floating on front and back, jumping into the water, and treading water. The goal is to have all above skills done with some independence.
